Exploring the Newport Heights Community

Located in Newport Beach, the upscale neighborhood of Newport Heights sits on a cliff above the Pacific Coast Highway as it looks down at Mariners Mile. As such, the neighborhood is known for its incredible views and mixture of stunning luxury homes.

Newport Heights Amenities

Situated to the east of the Pacific Coast Highway and to the south of the 55 Highway, the greatest amenities of the Newport Heights community are its natural features. In addition to boasting magnificent views, the community provides its residents with easy access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. With its location in Newport Beach, the community also offers lovely year-round temperatures. Due to its idyllic location, Newport Heights is among one of the most expensive communities in Orange County with housing options ranging from relatively affordable coundos to luxury custom homes.

Two farmers’ markets are also located near to Newport Heights. These include the market in Corona del Mar that is open on Saturday mornings at the corner of Marguerite and Pacific Coast Highway as well as the Sunday morning market at Lido Village. The walkable village areas of Corona del Mar and Balboa Island boast a number of shops and resetaurants, while other nearby areas of interest include McFadden Square, Newport Pier, Lido Village and Cannery Village.

Bicycling and golf are also popular activities in the area, with Back Bay Drive and the bike paths around Upper Newport Bay being particularly popular among cyclists. The San Joaquin Hills and Crystal Cove State Park also offer excellent mountain biking trails, while the Pelican Hill area offers two golf courses that have ranked among the Golf Digest America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses.

Enjoying the Newport Beach Lifestyle

In addition to its magnificent beaches, Newport Beach is home to a seemingly endless supply of amenities and attractions. A few of the more popular beaches in the city include those found at Corona del Mar State Beach and Crystal Cove State Park. Many of the city’s beaches are also renowned for their excellent surfing opportunities, with the best surfing beaches being primarily located between Newport Pier and the Santa Ana River. The Wedge, located at the tip of the Balboa Peninsula, offers world-class bodysurfing and bodyboarding opportunities while Newport Pier and Balboa pier are popular among fishermen.

Newport Beach is also home to Newport Harbor, which is the largest recreational boat harbor in the west coast. As such, it is a popular destination for fishing, sailing, kayaking, rowing, paddleboarding and other water-based activities. The annual Christmas Boat Parade, which has been taking place since 1908 and was named by The New York Times as “one of the top ten holiday happenings in the nation” also takes place at the harbor. A variety of paddling, sailing and rowing events take place at the harbor nearly every weekend throughout the year, while the Newport Ensenada International Yacht Race, which is the largest sailboat race in the world, takes place there every year. The city is also home to several yacht clubs as well as the Newport Aquatic Center.
